The Position – Software Architect
As an Software Architect at ThreatFabric, you will be responsible for designing end-to-end, scalable, and secure system architectures that support both SaaS and on-premise environments. You will translate complex business and technical needs into robust, future-proof designs that ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with our security standards. This role focuses on software architecture, cloud and solution design are part of the context, but not the primary focus.

You will play a key role in guiding cross-functional teams through architectural transitions, supporting modernization initiatives, and ensuring that solutions align with ThreatFabric’s overall strategy and technical vision. 

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include: 
  • Designing scalable, high-performing, and resilient architectures.
  • Architecting and guiding event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka.
  • Ensuring designs support both SaaS and on-premise delivery models while maintaining consistency and maintainability.
  • Translating business and functional requirements into clear architectural blueprints and documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and management to ensure architectural consistency and adoption.
  • Evaluating and selecting technologies, tools, and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, databases, messaging systems).
  • Ensuring compliance with ThreatFabric’s security, privacy, and reliability standards in all proposed solutions.
  • Supporting development teams during implementation by providing guidance and reviewing deliverables.
  • Documenting architectural principles, decisions, and system interactions in a clear, accessible way.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by monitoring technology trends and recommending architectural enhancements.

  • A 12-month employment contract with the intention to extend. Subject to mutual satisfaction, this may lead to a permanent position.

Your profile
Skills & Competencies
 
Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in solution or systems architecture, preferably within complex, data-driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure), containerization, and microservices.
  • Experience designing event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
  • Solid knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and time-series (e.g., InfluxDB) databases.
  • Familiarity with authentication standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML) and secure system design.
  • Proven track record in leading or contributing to large-scale architectural change or modernization projects.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural alignment and adoption.

  • Capable of analyzing complex technical challenges and designing efficient, scalable solutions.
